Felipa Aires Mateus Sousa Uva Burke

Felipa Burke is an entrepreneur and dedicated mother currently living in New York City. However, she has spent time living in several different countries throughout her life. She attended a German High School in Lisbon, Portugal, followed by earning her degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. After that, she went on to attend a European doctoral program in Quantitative Economics. The program lasted two years and allowed her to spend time at two different institutions, the London School of Economics and Rheinisch Friedrich Wilhems Universitaet in Bonn, Germany. With these varied experiences throughout her educational career, Felipa has developed impressive language skills. She is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and German and has a working knowledge of French as well.

After completing her doctoral degree, Felipa Burke launched into a successful career in finance. She lived and worked in London for over 15 years, where she worked for companies such as Goldman Sachs, Her Majesty’s Treasury, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Over the years, she became skilled in the areas of bank sales, risk management, and solutions. 

At the end of 2008, Felipa Burke took a leave of absence for a year to pursue some of her own personal interests. She dedicated the time to work on personal projects while continuing to invest in her personal network and maintain client relationships. In her free time, though, she invested in local charity work, giving back to her community through volunteering and advocacy. Additionally, she enjoyed traveling and took a cooking class to pursue her own personal development. This break from the professional world helped her jump back into work refreshed and equipped with new experiences and perspectives.

Amidst her professional endeavors, Felipa Burke also became a wife and a mother to two daughters. Investing in her children is one of Felipa’s priorities, and she even took a year away from her career to stay home and focus on their development. In 2018, Felipa and her family relocated to New York City for her husband’s job. There, she jumped back into professional pursuits and became a founding partner of Pego LLC. Based in the United Kingdom, Pego provides workplace hygiene monitoring systems for businesses and organizations. With her previous experience in sales and maintaining client relationships, Felipa has been an excellent fit as director for this company.
